Workers Comp

The 2010 CFD Is Out!

Alaska CHARR Members received over a million dollars!!!

CHARR Fund Dividend

We are pleased to announce that 120 lucky Alaska CHARR Members have received returns from their workers compensation insurance premiums, for the 2005-2006 year. This year’s dividend is producing returns of 9%, resulting in an average return of $1,800.00 per member!

Since the program started paying out six years ago, CHARR Members have received payments totaling over $1.62 million.

How does the program work?
We encourage all Alaska CHARR Members to check out the program and see if you qualify – it’s as easy as:

• Be an Alaska CHARR member;

• Qualify as a business who’s activities allow Republic Indemnity to underwrite your policy;

• Have your insurance agent write your worker’s compensation insurance with Republic Indemnity; and

• Make sure they ask Republic Indemnity to put you in the Alaska CHARR Worker’s Compensation program

Three years later, members of the program can receive a dividend based on the profits when the program makes money (it takes three years because that is how long it takes to clear up any claims filed. Once all claims are paid and the insurance company expenses are paid, the profit are paid to Alaska CHARR Members will receive a dividend). For more information you can contact Conrad Houston Insurance of Alaska, who worked with CHARR to originate this program, at 907-276-7667 or work with your local agent.

The program’s collective premium has continued to grow to over $3,900,000.00 – That is more than TEN TIMES larger than when we paid our first dividend. This is great news for those participating, because as more Members join the program, the risk is spread out and enhances the chance for future dividends.

Are the rates competitive?
Republic Indemnity promises competitive prices. We would urge you to shop around and get several quotes, and believe you will see that Republic Indemnity’s prices are in line with industry standards – and they give cash back when the program makes money!

Will I get a return every year?
While returns can not be guaranteed every year, but based on the annual growth of the premiums to over 3.9 million dollars currently, and compared to similar programs in other states, we are optimistic that dividends will continue to come back to Members.
