Hello, I am Ed Canfield, and I am proud to introduce myself as CHARR’s Training Coordinator. I grew up in Anchorage and have over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. I started as a young dishwasher in the mid-1970s at the Seacoast Inn and Clinkerdagger, Binkerstaff, & Petts. I worked bartending, cooking, and management positions at some well-known restaurants in the Anchorage bowl. I also worked for several hotels in town, starting as a porter, delivering room service, and working up to a banquet manager.
Other career choices took me away from the hospitality industry, but I am glad to be back. I look forward to being part of the CHARR family and continuing to administrate the great education programs and membership benefits we offer to our long-time and new members.
I look forward to meeting each of you, hearing about the issues that you face every day, and obtaining your input on potential unique member benefits that will directly impact your business.
I enjoy vacations with my wife, Mary. I also enjoy working out, particularly in Martial Arts and attending the Indianapolis 500 each year.
