Alaska CHARR employs a full-time lobbyist and works closely with the Alaska CHARR Government Affairs Committee to represent you at the state level.
While our government affairs team is primarily focused on issues in Alaska they have done significant work at the national level as well, like working directly with ABL to repeal the nationwide $250 civil war era Special Occupational Tax every licensee in the country was paying.
Local Alaska CHARR’s eight Affiliates work on the front lines of your communities to represent your local interests!
In areas that do not have organized affiliates, Alaska CHARR is always willing to step in and help on issues, like the recent alcohol tax proposals we were able to defeat in Seward and Mat-Su Borough.
Need industry representation in your area? Call Alaska CHARR for information on starting a CHARR affiliate in your community.
Alaska CHARR works with members and Affiliates to develop our annual Legislative Priorities booklet to share our positions with industry members and legislators.
Alaska CHARR is a close partner with the National Restaurant Association and the American Beverage Licensees. We are all committed to representing you and informing you on federal issues.
The NRA and ABL teams, located in Washington, D.C., stay in close contact with us and our members to ensure you are informed. They frequently offer webinars, deploy national action alerts and gather public comments for federal issues impacting restaurants
