About Us
Alaska CHARR is the hospitality leader for workforce development, legislative representation, advocacy, and industry training
About Us
Founded on March 13, 1964, Alaska CHARR (Alaska Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant & Retailers Association) has served as the only statewide organization dedicated to advancing and protecting Alaska’s hospitality industry. Over the decades, we’ve become the leading voice for businesses across the state—from cabarets and restaurants to hotels, retailers, and foodservice providers.
Our Mission & Reach
Dedicated to advancing, serving, and protecting Alaska’s hospitality and foodservice industry. We offer the most comprehensive alcohol server training (TAP®)—statewide since 1984—and nationally accredited ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification. Through our Education Fund, CHARR Magazine, and affiliate chapters in Fairbanks, Kodiak, Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, Mat-Su, Cook Inlet, and the Kenai Peninsula, we provide workforce development, professional training, advocacy, and communication tools to support every corner of the state Alaska.
Why It Matters
Alaska CHARR empowers our members through training, legislative advocacy, and industry representation, connecting businesses across Alaska and ensuring they operate safely, responsibly, and successfully. Our long history—spanning over six decades—reflects our commitment to building a stronger, smarter, and more connected hospitality community.
