Click “Join” in the top right corner.
Click “Create an Account” and enter your information.
On the next screen, enter your employer's name.
*If it's not listed or you’re not currently employed, just leave it blank.
Fill in your contact information, including a valid mailing address.
Check your email for a verification code, enter it, and confirm your account.

Back to top ↑To become a member, your employer must be a CHARR member. When creating an account, select your employer from the dropdown. If they don’t appear, leave it blank.
If you already have an account but your employer isn’t linked, please fill out a contact form.
Once your account is created and your employer is linked, membership approval may take at least 24 hours and is verified Monday–Friday.
Back to top ↑Yes, registration is required for in-person classes and webinars; you can register online here.
For in-person classes, bring a government-issued picture ID and something to write on.
For webinars, you will need to upload a government-issued picture ID 24 hours prior to the class date. Instructions are included in your confirmation e-mail.

Navigate to Courses > Purchased.
Select the box with your class type and date from the Purchased section to open the course.

Back to top ↑Our webinars are held live via Zoom with a certified instructor. After registering, please check your email for course instructions, including the Zoom link and access details.
You can join using a phone, laptop, or tablet. Your camera and microphone will not be used or required during the session. We recommend downloading Zoom in advance to avoid any technical issues on the day of the webinar.

Back to top ↑Please first check your email for any undeliverable mail notifications.
If your card is returned as undeliverable, you will be notified by email with instructions to resolve the issue. Follow-up reminders will be sent at 30, 60, and 90 days. If the issue is not resolved within 90 days, the card will be securely shredded.
If it has been over 90 days since you completed your course, you will need to log in to your account and purchase a replacement card, confirming your shipping address is correct.

Back to top ↑No—you’ll receive a temporary TAP® certificate immediately after successfully completing the certification survey following your exam. This temporary certificate is valid for 14 days. Your physical TAP® card will be mailed to you and typically arrives within about two weeks.
Back to top ↑Anyone who sells, serves, or supervises the sale or service of alcohol in Alaska is required to have a valid TAP® certification. This includes bartenders, servers, clerks, managers, and security staff.
There is a 30-day grace period for new hires outside the Municipality of Anchorage. However, within Anchorage, there is no grace period—you must have a valid TAP® card before starting work, and it must remain current at all times.

Back to top ↑Yes. There is no law prohibiting individuals with a DUI or alcohol restriction from obtaining a TAP® card or serving alcohol.
Back to top ↑Yes, you can attend the TAP® webinar from anywhere in the U.S. Just remember that all sessions are scheduled in Alaska Time.
Please note: TAP® cards are only mailed to Alaska addresses, or you may pick up your card at our Anchorage office once you're in the state.

The current information listed on your account
The corrected information you'd like us to update
If the correction includes a name change, you may need to order a replacement TAP® card.
If the incorrect information was entered during registration, and a card has already been issued, a replacement card must be purchased to receive an updated version.
