🚨 Anchorage Assembly Repeals Mandatory ID Checks 🚨

The Anchorage Assembly has officially reversed the mandatory ID check policy for restaurants and bars when selling alcohol. The change, passed Tuesday night, comes just months after the original rule took effect.

Assembly member Yarrow Silvers, who led the repeal effort, argued that training and existing laws already regulate alcohol sales. Some businesses also reported customer harassment over ID checks.

Liquor stores must still check IDs, but restaurants and bars are no longer required to verify every customer’s age before serving alcohol.
